Some animes aren't animes.

I just noticed but some of the animes arent really animes. An anime is a Japanese animation show is I'm correct. And Avatar Last AirBender was created in the US and Code Lyoko was created in US as well. Just thought it was weird=]

yeah i thought the same, but wasnt code lyoko french...gw talks to me about it alot.

Avatar is Canadian and Code Lyoko is a French Anime

I've done research, with Avatar, that was added by Zintos and Gohan, but Code Lyoko is anime, it's the only French Anime that was mass distributed transnational

Something along these lines came up on another thread. In Japan the word anime is used as a broad term to describe all animation. However a lot of people in western countries consider anime to be of Japanese origin only. Myself being one of those people. Code Lyoko
is french by the way.

I always thought something different. What seperates anime from cartoons is the level of maturity of the show itself. For example Pokemon,which is made in Japan, is a cartoon. Inuyasha, which is made in Vancouver, Canada (spelling?) is an anime.

Actually Inuyasha was made in Japan. The voices for the English dub of the series however were recorded in Canada at Ocean Studios.

Personally, I think Avatar and Code Lyoko are kind of annoying X_x
But, that's just my opinion, not to offend anyone.
