My Very First Sub

I done it with my penpal i and i took scene from movie Zatoichi wich i really like

Tell me how was it and is it any good or mistakes...

Hmm..

Format wise it rather reminds me of some of the 80s Martial Arts movies that I've seen (Chinese language, English sub). Some might think it cheesy, but to me it brings along a nice nostalgia feeling of when life was simpler. So I rather like it.

As for the dance routine.
Seems to be a mix between one of the mass dance routines favored by Miss Jackson, combined with traditional Japanese dance as well as tap-dancing. Interesting mix to say the least.

I did notice two minor errors in grammar. Other than that it was very nicely done.

Didn't say that this was Chinese, meant the movies I saw when I was a kid, were in Chinese, but also English subbed, and that the subbing format (lettering + color) looks similar.

And that while some might dismiss it as cheesy, which seems to be a common assessment of those movies I mentioned, I rather like it. It does, what it is supposed to do, convey the story, it doesn't obscure the action, and it's clearly visible.

I was talking about the subbing format. Meaning font type, color of the font, size used etc. If, you've seen any of the '80s Martial Arts movies out of Hong Kong like the Kid With The Golden Arm, Master of the Flying Guillotine, Five Element Ninjas etc, then you would know that it looks roughly similar.

So, I wasn't talking about the movie itself. I am well aware that Zatoichi is set in Japan (Edo period) and that it's one of the oldest "series" in Japan with there having been a tv series in addition to the movies.

I'm also aware that this version of Zatoichi has a different actor (Takeshi Kitano) than all the previous material, due to the death of the actor (Shintaro Katsu) who originally performed the role.

Jumping to conclusions without giving proper consideration to what is meant/said/written is a bad habit.

Nice. The couple grammatical errors that someone pointed out is almost inevitable. Even production movie subs have errors. Most of the time it's to stay closer to the true statement in the native language.

The dance routine brought men in tights and riverdance to mind...

yeah..font size is big but i think that is better for me(i don't need to wear my eyeglasses).....it's nice for your first sub

I agree with you on that. The only reason I even bothered to mention the grammatical errors is because he asked if there were any mistakes.

I actually enjoy the "seeable" font because some anime subbers fonts are all over the place crazy and un-seeable if that's even a word o.o

Well i used Movie Maker for adding subs so that's why they are near center and they are yellow cuz i chose that color ;P

Great job but I think you should make the subs smaller so it doesnt take up the whole screen and doesnt really distract us. But otherwise great job!
